Based on the Literacy Boost Revamp Review Report, Save the Children is updating the Literacy Boost toolkit in 2024-2026.

Available updated LB (3.0) Tools:

LB TPD 3.0 resources:
- Aligns with the SC’s Enabling Teachers’ Common Approach (ET)
- Includes additional content on lesson planning for literacy, assessment-informed instruction for literacy, guidance for creating an LB TPD MEAL Plan, guidance on supporting coaches in LB programs, and more!

Coming in 2025 or later:

LB/NB Structured Pedagogy Guidance – to provide more structured lesson planning guidance for teachers to make their jobs easier
LB/NB Scaling through Systems Guidance – to better plan for sustainability and scalability of literacy and numeracy outcomes via working with education and other local systems
LB 3.0 (and NB) Community Action Guidance: This guidance is intended to support program teams to:
- Provide targeted support to the subset of children that will need it:
  - Including having a monitoring system in place (at the individual child level) & working through the system for regular assessment of children
  - This should allow identification of these children at risk of falling behind in their learning, in a feasible, safe and timely way.
- Empower teams to choose the right LB/NB Community Action activities for their context out of the range of activities possible (for parental engagement, child-centered activities, or other home-school-community strengthening activities, etc.), given their constraints
  - Teams should choose at least 1 LB/NB Community Action activity that achieves high quality with a wide reach and at least 1 activity that is targeted towards a subset of children who will end up needing more support
  - Clarify that SNAP tools should be used/adapted for community action where possible (ex. use the SNAP caregiver workshops, incorporate key SNAP sessions into training volunteers of community-based learning clubs/activities, etc.)
- Integrate innovations (ex. EdTech innovations, use of SBC barrier analysis and design) into their LB/NB Community Action programs, as appropriate
- Understand how LB/NB activities align with wellbeing and SEL parts of the holistic FL initiative
- Organize Community Action activities in a way that aligns with the education/etc. system to strengthen the home, school, community connections in a sustainable/scalable way
LB 3.0 MEAL Guidance – should bring together TPD and Community Action MEAL guidance
LB 3.0 Multilingual Guidance – including tips on enhancing advocacy, TPD, and Community Action activities in multilingual contexts; organized according to different types of multilingual contexts so that readers can easily jump to the sections that are most applicable to them
