Save the Children Lithuania

Young Voices- Lithuania is Save the Children Lithuania’s nation-wide survey of children aged 12, 14, and 17, asking them their views on bullying, violence, unsafe places, feeling bad, support and help, school, education, their rights, the future, and much more.

According to Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, children have the right to express their views on all matters affecting them according to their age and maturity. Adults must listen to, respect, and take into account children’s opinions in all decisions concerning them.

The goal of Young Voices is to be a useful tool in discussions with politicians, policy-makers and other stakeholders concerning conditions for children and young people. Results from 1056 children respondents show that not all children rights in Lithuania are implemented fairly. Many Lithuanian children want to be listened to and taken seriously to a much greater extent than they are today.
