This study was a collaboration between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNPF), the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, and United Nations Volunteers (UNV).

The objectives of the study were to:

  • Better understand men’s use of different forms of violence against women in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Assess men’s own experience of violence as well as their perpetration of violence against other men and how it relates to the perpetration against women
  • Identify factors associated with men’s perpetration of different forms of violence against women
  • Promote evidence-based policies and programmes to prevent violence against women
