What can be done?

What can be done? was developed as part the World Disaster Reduction Campaign launched in 2006 by UN/ISDR secretariat and UNESCO, aimed at promoting the safety of school buildings and mainstreaming disaster risk reduction (DRR) into school curricula and school activities. Young people need to be aware and learn from the hazards that threaten them, their families and their friends, and be familiar with what can be done to reduce their negative consequences. Directed at key institutional actors and DRR stakeholders, the document highlights key points to be considered to increase the safety of schools and raise risk awareness.
