Children born in fragile states are more likely to be malnourished, uneducated and abused. This report attempts to capture the positive interventions that are beginning to show impact even in these challenging contexts. Stopping preventable deaths does not require expensive and complex healthcare. It needs simple, cost-effective solutions like exclusive breastfeeding, access to immunisations and bed nets, and the diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia, diarrhoea and malaria. This report has attempted to capture which interventions are leading to progress. Success is possible, and partners need to learn from and build on any progress that is made.
