This research paper analyzes the long-term and intergenerational health impacts of the Nepali 1996-2006 conflict.

It finds that exposure to conflict during childhood has a negative impact on attained adult height. Moreover, the research finds that a mother’s exposure to conflict during her childhood is detrimental to her child’s health, as mothers exposed to conflict often live in less wealthy households, are likely to have more children, and consequently, are less able to invest in their children’s physical development.
