Twelve-year-old Victoria* fled her home in eastern Ukraine when her town was shelled. She now lives in Sloviansk and attends Save the Children’s Child Friendly Space (CFS). Victoria’s mother registered her in the CFS because the conflict had affected her health and she was having trouble sleeping.

“When I came here I can forget about the war, my problems and issues at school,” Victoria says.

Together, the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department and Save the Children are providing conflict-affected children in Ukraine with safe and protective environments where they can play, learn and recover from their experiences.
