Pakistan’s monsoon rains began in July 2010, just as they have in years past. But this year, the torrential waters soon spilt over riverbeds, swept away villages and farms and cut a swath of destruction through an area the size of England. The waters engulfed thousands of communities and isolated many others, taking 1,600 lives and continuing to affect 20 million people, 10 million of them children.
In this report, Save the Children provides an overview of its emergency response to assist children and families affected by this disaster.
