Systematisation of an experience: Training multipliers to promote positive child training and end humiliating, degrading and corporal punishment

This publication revisits the experience of the programme developed in Colombia between September 2005 and May 2006, with the objective of raising awareness on punishment of children and positive child rearing alternatives. For eight months workshops helped to promote positive child raising and to stop humiliating, degrading and corporal punishment. These workshops would assist educators to bring about changes related to punishment and positive child raising, and to strengthen their skills as the educators of parents on an issue difficult to transform because the use of corporal punishment is accepted as a cultural norm. This document presents the experiences gained and the training model that was used for the project.
