The United Nations Decade of Action on Nutrition has focused on the elimination of malnutrition in all its forms. To achieve this goal, countries are focusing on nutrition specific and sensitive programs. This paper reviews studies in three thematic areas – agriculture, social safety net and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) – to assess the effects of nutrition sensitive strategies combined with a social and behavioral change communication component on diet and nutritional status.
