Scalability Assessment and Planning (SAP) Toolkit

The Scalability Assessment and Planning Toolkit guides Scaling and Assessment Planning with corrective actions to strengthen or enable scaling up. While scaling up is complex and fraught with challenges, using the SAP Toolkit ensures your initiative has the best possible chances for scalability and will set you on the path to effectively scaled initiatives. The Toolkit’s overview of scalability, worksheets, and assessment forms are based on good practices and lessons learned from frameworks as well as research on scaling up in international development, child-centred risk reduction (CCRR), education and health. The worksheets and assessments can be used for different CCRR initiatives and settings. If needed, you can add criteria specific to certain CCRR initiatives and/or modify questions for certain initiatives should specific scalability lessons be identified in a particular area of CCRR.
