Save the Children's CPI Newsletter, December 2011

The December issue of Save the Children’s Child Protection Initiative (CPI) quarterly Newsletter is dedicated to National Child Protection Systems and turning to "a systems approach" to establish or strengthen comprehensive child protection efforts. It includes the following sections: A message from the Director of the Child Protection Initiative; Definition/Components of a National Child Protection Systems; A success story from Romania, where a key approach to preventing violence against children has been the establishment of the Centre for Emotional & Behavioural Education and five Parenting Centres, greatly benefiting young people, parents and professionals; An interview with the UN-Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography; An interview with the Project Manager of Save the Children in Georgia; Staff Survey on Programming for National Child Protection Systems to learn about SC's child protection staff's perceived capacities and resource needs to improve programmes strengthening National Child Protection Systems; Advocacy in Focus: Rights-based National Child Protection Systems; and an overview of recent developments and useful publications.
