Save the Children's calls to the G8 and G20 in 2010

At the 2009 G8 summit in Italy, G8 countries committed to support a Consensus on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health. But so far that commitment has not translated into change on the ground. In fact, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)to reduce child mortality by two-thirds and maternal mortality by three-quarters between 1990 and 2015 are among the most heavily off-track of all the MDGs. This year's G8 and G20 provide the world's leaders with an opportunity to get back on track.
