Save the Children Sweden (SCS) has supported regional programmes for many years and is presently supporting regional child rights coalitions in all parts of the world. In Southeast Asia, SCS is supporting a regional Child Rights Governance (CRG) programme, which in its present phase runs from 2013 to 2015. The program is implemented primarily by two partners – Child Rights Coalition Asia (CRC Asia), a regional civil society organisation (CSO) coalition with 11 members based in 7 of the 10 ASEAN member countries, and the Ateneo Human Rights Center (AHRC) a university-based NGO housed within the Ateneo Law School in Manila. SCS has supported the formation and development of CRC Asia from its beginning in 2008.

The main focus of the regional CRG programme is to strengthen the capacity of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) at national and regional levels to influence decisions and actions of governments and human rights mechanisms for the fulfilment and protection of children’s rights with a strong focus on Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries.

This programme review provides a list of recommendations for the improvement of the functionality and management of the regional CRG programme.
