In order to develop a strong regional programme it invited civil society thematic focal persons from all the countries in the region including representation from SC Alliance and Save the Children India to a three day consultation meeting which was organized in the premise of Jamia Millia Islamia University Campus in New Delhi during July 29-31, 2008. The purpose of the consultation was to develop a strong thematic cooperation within the SC Alliance members, identify areas of capacity building, research, advocacy and funding opportunities. The SCS Civil Society thematic programme for 2009-12 encompasses the following key programme areas.
