Rapport sur l’application relative aux droits de l’enfant en R.D.C

Alternative Report to the UN Committee of the Rights of the Child submitted by the NGO Assistance Congo A.S.B.L.(Association de défense des droits de l’enfant), of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The report reflects on the general situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the humanitarian consequences of the war afflicting the country. National institutions, focused on military objectives, are excluding a large portion of the population and overlooking children’s needs at a time when effective and efficient programme implementation involving children in armed conflict should be intensified. The protection of children should be above political calculations and is key in addressing the concerns of children affected by armed conflict.
