This child-friendly book tells a story about the invisible bacteria that come to Mika and Christina’s village to make the villagers sick. The story teaches important lessons about hygiene and precautions children can take to avoid sickness. The story is followed by suggestions for discussion and comprehension activities, classroom or club activities, and a brief of eight core messages that constitute the Children’s Participation in Learning and Action for Nutrition (PCAAN) programme.
The story The Puzzle: How to keep clean and why it is important is for children aged 10–14 depending on their reading ability. They can also read it to younger children. Its focus is on creative thinking, problem solving and nutrition.
