Psychosocial Interventions: A handbook

This handbook provides guidance and information on how to plan and implement psychosocial interventions. It is the product of learning and experiences of Red Cross Red Crescent staff and volunteers in the tsunami affected region in the Indian Ocean in 2004.

The handbook covers many areas of psychosocial support: background information about what psychosocial support is and why support is necessary, conducting assessments, planning and implementation of a psychosocial response, how to provide training and whyit is necessary, and monitoring and evaluation.

The Power Points are to be used during training exercises; they cover training on assessments, planning, and monitoring and evaluation strategies.
