This report sets out the key actions the Scottish Parliament must take over the next four years if it is to meet its obligations to children living in poverty. 90,000 children across Scotland live in severe poverty. That’s nine percent of all children in Scotland. Growing up in poverty can have a damaging and lasting impact on children so it is vital to invest in eradicating child poverty. Save the Children calls for all parties to support two key commitments: 1. Tackle severe child poverty, as part of a broader approach to eradicate child poverty; and 2. Break the link between poverty and educational underachievement.
