Nigeria Education Sector COVID-19 Response Strategy in North East

The Nigeria Cluster is coordinated centrally by a team of experienced coordination specialists. The team consists of Sector Coordinators from both sector Lead Agencies, UNICEF and Save the Children, as well as an Information Management Officer seconded from IMMAP to UNICEF. 

The Nigeria Education in Emergency Working Group focuses on preparedness and response plan to:

1. Redurce morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19 among students, teachers, and schools stakeholders in North East Nigeria,
2. Mitigate the negative impact of school closures on children learning and teacher wellbeing
3. Ensure effective, inclusive, and safe return to quality learning for students and teachers
