Given the critical and growing role of local-international partnerships in humanitarian action in high-risk settings, the research program ‘NGOs and Risk: Managing uncertainty in local-international partnerships’ examines the different types of risk faced by international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and local or national non-governmental organizations (NGOs). It also explores how well these risks are managed within the partnership arrangements.

This briefing paper presents the recommendations from the 2019 reports of this research program. The recommendations are based on research at the global level as well as field studies in South Sudan and northeast Nigeria.
