On Saturday, April 25, 2015, a powerful earthquake of 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Nepal. It was the largest earthquake in Nepal in 80 years. Less than three weeks later, on Tuesday May 12, another earthquake measuring 7.3 in magnitude struck.
Save the Children launched an immediate response to support earthquake-affected children and families. This two-year report reviews the assistance provided in the Nepal response and current progress to date. Save the Children has focused on safe school construction, food security and livelihood recovery, and construction of health facilities.
