This is a National Guide for the participation of children which has been developed in consonance with Art. 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC). The Guide is intended to facilitate meaningful participation of children from the family level through to national, regional and international levels. The aim is to target the various audiences in the different settings. This Guide is designed to be an invaluable instrument specifically for those working at institutions/organisations including schools and health care providers; legal institutions; probation and welfare institutions; local councils; Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO), Community Based Organisations (CBO) and the media. The beneficiaries will be families, communities and ultimately children. It is designed to be a user friendly tool to provide tips, tools and techniques and for engaging children..
