National Child Participation Framework

This document provides a common framework to guide all spheres of government, civil society and different sectors to promote the meaningful participation of children in South Africa. In order to address observed gaps and barriers to child participation, the provisions articulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the Constitution of South Africa, a holistic and systematic response is required. This must begin with a funded, national systemic child participatory framework.

The overall purpose of this framework is to ensure better levels of participation of children across all settings so that their right to participate in matters affecting their lives is fulfilled.
