This is a guide to provide basic support to children to help them process their feelings and experiences, before adjusting back into regular social contact with peers and routine classes or activities.
This tool is designed for use by adults – including classroom teachers – who facilitate activities with children after experiencing school closures, COVID 19 home isolation and physical distancing. In familybased programming, this tool can also be used with caregivers in attendance. This check-in session with children aims to support them to process their experiences through COVID-19 school closures and lockdowns to help prevent longer-term negative impacts on psychosocial development.
