Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a social accountability tool has been introduced in the Child Rights Governance programme in Bangladesh. KOLOROB is an android app that enables citizens and civil society organisations (CSOs) to directly link with service providers, as well as access and share available data. This story illustrates the process of how the need is addressed in a systematic way and is made accessible to government services. “KOLOROB” http://www.kolorob.info/ is a virtual knowledge bank that enables urban slum dwellers to navigate government services available in their slum communities, via a web and mobile application. This android app is helping poor in urban areas to have access to information on education, health, and other essential services. It also includes a feedback mechanism. This will help children and the wider community to better access and monitor public service provision through open source data across an open platform. Follow this link to watch and introductory film and information on where to download the app.
