Concern’s first Child Survival program was initiated in Bangladesh in 1998. Today, the program has been active for 20 years and is present in seven countries across the world. During these years, the program has strengthened not only communities but also local and national health systems. It has further contributed meaningful evidence to advance global health best practices and advocated for better systems and policies that prioritize the most marginalized children.

This report gives an overview of Concern’s work and learning during 20 years of Child Survival programs from 1998 to 2018. Examples and project highlights are presented and discussed. In addition to this, the report discusses the issue of sustainability of the programs, as well as lessons learned and recommendations for future work for child survival.
