The importance of ensuring babies and children get the food they need in emergencies is now well recognised. But the reality of putting policy into practice is challenging. This review of interventions in the area of infant and young child feeding in emergencies (IYCF-E) by Save the Children is based on research with 37 humanitarian agencies, donors and government representatives. It gives insight into the current situation, explores the challenges in implementing and undertaking IYCF-E programming at scale, and offers practical solutions.
