Implications of the Global Early Adolescent Study’s Formative Research Findings for Action and for Research

Adolescence is a time of great physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. As adolescents begin to establish independence, the enforcement of social norms, including gender norms, becomes particularly poignant. This study presents information on gender socialization in early adolescence as well as recommendations on how the global community can promote gender-equitable norms and attitudes in early adolescence.
