The health, security and overall economic development in Sierra Leone has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This together with weak preparedness for future disasters creates a significant risk for nutritional deprivations for children and increased risks of gender-based violence for women and girls. This appeal describes the difficulties in Sierra Leone, and the strategies used by UNICEF to respond to these.
