About 1.6 million people are facing food and nutrition insecurity due to climate changes in Angola. The rainfall is estimated to follow unusual patterns with both higher and lower levels of rain in different region. This will have a negative impact on the population in terms of their health, nutrition and access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), as well as education and child protection services. These challenges are exacerbated with health emergencies such as polio, cholera and COVID-19. This appeal describes the critical situation in Angola, and the strategies used by UNICEF to respond to these.
