Publication year:

The Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women (GAATW) has organized trainings for anti-trafficking activists on human rights in the context of trafficking since 1996. GAATW believes that a solution to human trafficking cannot be found without respect and of and promotion for the human rights of those persons being trafficked.

This handbook provides an overview of internationally accepted human rights principles, government obligations, and general information on both the history and modern account of human trafficking. The second chapter examines contributing factors to human trafficking, the consequences of trafficking, and recommended government responses. The third and fourth chapters look at strategies and approaches to combat human trafficking.
