On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic. The virus has now spread across the globe and is a common threat to the health of everyone. One of the preparedness and response measures taken by many authorities is quarantines and home-isolation. However, the ability to use this technique in overcrowded settings is particularly challenging as space in homes and shelters is limited and typically shared by many people. During these circumstances, it is important to ensure the safety and well-being of children, who have specific needs.

This document includes a collection of global best practices for home-isolation, tailored for Afghanistan’s unique context.
