Guidance on the Preparation of a Parallel Report to a UN Human Rights Treaty Body on the Topic of Climate Change and Human Rights

Developed by the Center for International Environmental Law and The Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, this document guides the reader on drafting a parallel report to a Human Rights Treaty Body (HRTB). It addresses linkages between national climate activities and the State’s human rights applications.

This document can be used in tandem with “Opportunities Offered by the Reporting Procedure of the UN Human Rights Treaty Bodies”, which provides more information regarding the different steps of the State Reporting Procedure of the HRTBs, highlighting opportunities to leverage this process for the benefit of climate change campaigning and advocacy.
