World Congress Against Commercial Sexual Exploitation

The First World Congress Against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children took place in Stockholm in 1996, resulting in the ‘Stockholm Declaration and Agenda for Action’, which was adopted by 122 countries. This committed countries to develop strategies and plans of action with agreed-upon guidelines and 161 countries have now signed on.
In 2001 the Second World Congress was held in Yokohama and this is the final appeal from the children and young people participating in the Yokohama congress.
This appeal is on behalf of all the children and young people of the world to governments and agencies all over the world, including those who could not be here with us; and we expect the governments and agencies to exhibit their political will to implement the commitments to fight CSEC.
