"Everything has Changed": Children’s reflections on the impact of COVID-19 in Afghanistan

The brief is based on interviews with more than 70 children between the ages of 6 and 15 across seven provinces in Afghanistan, including Balkh, Faryab, Jawzjan, Kandahar, Kunduz, Nangarhar, and Sar-i-Pul. Interviews were conducted at the end of May 2020. While children themselves are not considered to be the most at-risk in contracting COVID-19, their responses demonstrate the widespread reverberations that the pandemic has had on their lives, from the closure of schools to increased food insecurity.
