Publication year:

Format:

pdf

Publisher:

Children for Health

This child-friendly book follows Mika and Christina’s Family as they challenge the eating norms of their village to ensure that each family membrer gets enough food.  The parrots Zaza and Zuzu suggest that they divide the food before eating, instead of letting Papa Geraldo eat himself full first. The story teaches important lessons about nutrition and the importance of sharing your food with the whole family. The story is followed by suggestions for discussion and comprehension activities, classroom or club activities, and a brief of eight core messages that constitute the Children’s Participation in Learning and Action for Nutrition (PCAAN) programme.

The story Everyone Counts is for children aged 10–14 depending on their reading ability. They can also read it to younger children. Its focus is on creative thinking, problem solving and nutrition.
