This toolkit has been designed to provide practical guidance for Save the Children staff on how to improve communication about emergency responses to a wide variety of potential media outlets. Developed by members of the All Members Cooperating in Emergencies (ACE) Communications Working Group, this Toolkit seeks to be a valuable resource for media and communications staff in country programmes whose job is to communicate about emergency response, and for media managers or information and communications officers who may be deployed to cover an emergency response. The toolkit is divided into four major sections; (i) Communications planning and strategy in emergencies; (ii) Working with the media; (iii) Photography, film, case studies and multimedia; and (iv) Information management.
