Disaster Risk Reduction in the Education Sector: India
In India, Save the Children plays a leadership role in Child Protection and Education in Emergencies. SC continues to implement DRR-based activities in tsunami-affected regions which in turn contributes to ensuring that DRR remains a priority at both local and national levels. Activities include: community and school level hazard vulnerability capacity assessments and analysis; capacity development in schools in coordination with local task forces; and the development, validation and documentation of school-based disaster management plans.
This poster provides a brief description of Save the Children’s programmes on Disaster Risk Reduction in the education sector in India.
