The aim of this Desk Review on child protection systems in the Eastern Africa region (Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda) is to accelerate efforts towards the establishment of national child protection systems to ensure that children are protected from abuse and exploitation. It also seeks to identify some of the challenges and gaps still being faced in ensuring an effective national child protection system in different countries in the region. All the seven countries have made significant efforts, though at different levels, to establish National Child Protection Systems.
