COVID-19: Sexual and reproductive health and rights in times of crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic has curtailed access to social and health services in Jordan, especially those relating to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender-based violence (GBV). This presents specific risks for women, girls and young people. Women and girls are reporting emotional and physical abuse, and there is an increased risk of exploitation and sexual violence as well as early child- and forced marriage.

This brief presents the impacts of COVID-19 on SRHR and GBV in Jordan. It also describes how the United Nations Population Fund has been working to ensure the continuity of essential services during the crisis.
