Country Risk Reduction Profile: Disaster Risk Reduction in Nicaragua

Nicaragua’s vulnerability to disasters has vastly increased in the last decades, severely affecting the most vulnerable population, particularly children. DRR work in Nicaragua has included early warning systems, preparedness and mitigation. Save the Children is also committed to developing child rights based approaches to DRR through local partners where natural disasters continue to threaten children’s lives.
