Country risk reduction profile: Disaster Risk Reduction in Egypt

With a population of more than 75 million and growing, Egypt struggles to find the resources to support children and families. Every year, thousands of Egyptians are born into poverty that negatively impacts their health and wellbeing. In Egypt, Save the Children has been involved in the Humanitarian Pandemic Preparedness (H2P) Initiative, which aims to limit excess mortality and morbidity during a human pandemic through strengthened humanitarian response capacity in the areas of health, food security and livelihoods, with particular emphasis on the community level.
