A complementary report by Non-governmental organizations to the State Party Report of Sierra Leone (2005) on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child

This report provides supplementary information on Sierra Leone’s second report on the implementation of the UNCRC. The Coalition expresses its commitment to assist the government in addressing children’s rights relating to education, health and children in emergency situations. This report emphasizes the need for similar commitments from the State party, its international partners, and the civil society due to a lack of harmonisation of customary and common laws with the CRC. The Coalition recommends an amendment to the Constitution as well as further legislative and institutional reforms.
