CP AOR, Child Protection Area of Responsibility

This multi-module training was created for the Global Child Protection Area of Responsibility to familiarize participants with the functions of humanitarian coordination as specified in the IASC Cluster Reference Module.  It addresses specific areas such as:

  • What structures child protection coordination takes in emergencies, and which actors are involved;
  • How to implement strategic decision-making on the basis of evidence collected;
  • How to apply the core standards for child protection responses in emergencies to the planning and strategy development process;
  • What advocacy is and why it is important, particularly for child protection in emergencies;
  • What the two different types of monitoring are in humanitarian responses;
  • What role child protection coordination groups play in emergency preparedness, contingency planning, and capacity building; and
  • What role a coordinator can play in promoting self-care across a CPWG.
