Child Protection Basics. FHI360 Child Protection Toolkit

Every child has the right to be safe from harm. Still, millions of children around the world are abused, neglected and exploited every year. Because children who experience violence and abuse can become adults who are less able to contribute to their societies, protecting children from harm is a vital aspect of development programs. To that end, FHI 360 developed a three-part child protection toolkit aimed at educating country program staff and the staff of local implementing partners on the fundamental aspects of child protection (CP).

This first manual in FHI 360’s Child Protection Toolkit, aims to enhance understanding of fundamental child protection issues. It is intended for everyone involved in programming for vulnerable children, from senior management staff to community volunteers.

Manual 2: 'Guidelines and Programming Options for Protecting Vulnerable Children in Community-based Care and Support Programs' and Manual 3: ' Becoming a Safe Organization for Children' can be accessed under Related Documents at the bottom right corner of this page.
