The goal of Save the Children in Georgia is to ensure the safety and protection of vulnerable children, fostering the conditions for equal opportunities and full participation of people, especially children with disabilities, in the political, advocacy, educational, economic and social life of Georgia. Special initiatives include a model for mainstreaming students with disabilities into public schools, teaching methods for deaf and hard of hearing students in State boarding schools, and providing rehabilitation services for children with disabilities. This particular Case Study tells us about a young deaf boy who is being taught sign language in the framework of Save the Children’s disability project, which is key to communication success and improving academic achievements.
