The priority areas covered are: 1) the development of a school course on children’s rights and training of teachers, accredited by the Romanian Ministry of Education; 2) the elaboration of informative material to help children become more familiar with the Convention; 3) the involvement of young volunteers (high school and university students) , who discuss with students during the tuition and civic education classes about these themes. Owing to the actions taken by Save the Children Romania, the child’s rights course was included, in 2006, in the national school curriculum for the 6th grade as an optional course and the organization developed the necessary teaching materials.
