This case study is about the social rehabilitation of Palestinian child ex-detainees. Through the West Bank Programme, Save the Children provides support to child ex-detainees in their post-trauma rehabilitation, including reintegration in their respective families and communities, as well as reintegration within their educational and professional environment.Conventional communication and visibility products and a number of child friendly innovative methodologies were used during the implementation of the programme in order to raise awareness and advocate the rights of girls and boys who were detained in Israeli prisons. Save the Children works in partnership with East Jerusalem Young Men Christian Association (EJ YMCA) to assist child ex-detainees in post-trauma rehabilitation throughout the West Bank, with funding from the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO).
