Tulane University conducted a case study of the Greater Rape Intervention Programme (GRIP) in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. Since 2000, the programme has provided medical and psychosocial care and legal support services to survivors of gender-based violence, many of whom were children. The case study offers a detailed assessment of GRIP’s evolving approach to assisting survivors in a country where rates of violence against women and children are among the highest in the world.
